9-day 'Northern Explorer' to Arctic Norway
Two dates to choose from!

Our voyage begins in Tromso, north of the Arctic Circle. We'll watch for the Northern Lights as we head to mainland Europe's most northerly point, the North Cape. Next stop is Kirkenes, a remote little town where you may visit the border with Russia or try your hand at dog sledding or snowmobiling. Heading southbound we visit Norway's Viking capital, Trondheim, and we disembark in the cultural capital city of Bergen, gateway to the fjords and famous for its cobbled streets and Hanseatic warehouses. Come and join us!

Due to advance demand we now have two Northern Lights tours for 2011. Both will feature exactly the same itinerary and sail on the same Hurtigruten ship, the MS Midnatsol.

2011 TOUR DATES

February and March are widely accepted as excellent months to watch for the Northern Lights!

HOLIDAY ITINERARY

Day 1, We fly from London Heathrow to Tromso and embark the MS Midnatsol.

Day 2, Sailing north via Honningsvag and the North Cape.

Day 3, Optional excursions in Kirkenes.

Day 4, Ports of call include Hammerfest and Skervoy.

Day 5, Sailing the beautiful Lofoten Islands.

Day 6, Our first taste south of the Arctic Circle, calling at Nesna and Rorvik.

Day 7, Early morning in Trondheim, followed by Kristiansund and Molde.

Day 8, Explore Bergen and stay overnight at the 4-star Neptun Hotel.

Day 9, Free time in Bergen before our airport transfer and flight home.

HOLIDAY PRICES AND WHAT'S INCLUDED

Prices for 2011 are yet to be finalised but we anticipate this tour will cost from around £1,195 per person sharing a 2-berth inside ship cabin. Accommodation in an outside cabin is likely to cost an extra £100 per person. Final prices will be circulated late April / early May 2010. Please ask for details.

The tour price will include International flights, the 7-night Hurtigruten voyage aboard the MS Midnatsol, your choice of inside or outside cabin, breakfasts and dinners on board ship, 1-night at the Neptun Hotel in Bergen including breakfast, port charges, transfers in Norway, airport and prepaid air taxes, gratuities, and free parking and airport transfers from Furlongs office if desired. Both tours will be personally escorted by Richard and Dawn Furlong.

It is hoped that some accommodation may be available without single supplement. This, may, however be limited and therefore subject to availability.

FLIGHT ITINERARY

The holiday will feature scheduled flights from Heathrow with Scandinavian Airlines. The flight itinerary will be confirmed late April / early May 2010.
